The result has been that most of Bangladesh has remained unspoilt by the ecologically punishing advancements of modern civili zation. The windswept fields of green, the playful rain, the dancing waves on the myriad rivers waves are a still pleasure to see. Unspoilt Nature at its best. Jute, tea, and an endless variety of vegetables , are the main produce. The silvery waters of the rivers and 'beels' produce fish of the best taste and variety. Bangladesh fresh-water fish and shrimps find their ways to the finest table around the world. And increasingly, Bangladeshi fruits too. Ripe d elicious mangoes, golden bananas, aromatic yellow pineapples, and rich, full coconuts.

The north-eastern and south-eastern hill-forest areas, Sylhet and Chittagong, produce some of the best tea. Loved for its taste and rich liquor, Bangladesh tea cheers millions around the world.

The industrious Bangladeshis have also set up large industries. Sugar, paper, jute and textile mills, fertilizer factories and tanneries process Bangladeshi produce, with Bangladeshi expertise. Garments industries supply the best brand-names around the world; a natural corollary of the fine dressing habits of the Bengalis.

For the connoisseur of food Bangladesh is the place to be. The famed oriental spices and preparations have their homes in Bengal. The most striking features of Bengali food are the intense flavours and the vibrant taste. Dozens of attractive restaurants in every major city offer a long list of mouthwatering delicacies from crispy tangy snacks through aromatic vegetables, and savoury meats, to rich biryanis fit for kings. The highly artistic culture of Bangladesh, more appropriately referred to as fine-arts, fine expression in its traditional festival-songs & dances that weave the magic of music. The most enjoyable aspect of Bangladeshi songs and magic, is that, long after the music has ended the melody goes on.

From the artistic soul of Bangladesh has sprung another industry handicrafts. Intricate works of art on wood, leather or clay. Handicrafts unique in the sense that each piece is truly hand-made.
